Liberians Demand Reshuffle Of EPS Officers Following Intruder’s Attempted Attack On President Boakai’s Life

Liberians who called on local radio station, the Sky FM 107.1 to be specific have expressed serious concern on what happened on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 during the commencement convocation of the United Methodist University (UMU) on the Monrovia Roberts International Airport highway when an unidentified intruder attempted to strangle President Joseph Nyuma Boakai while interacting with officials of the university where he was expected to serve Guest Speaker.

A video which went viral saw the intruder in white long sleeve shirt amid the presence of Executive Protection Service (EPS) officers, the intruder moved behind the VIP with his hand moving across the nick of the President with the alleged attempt to choke him to death, fears a situation that created serious fears in the entire administration including graduating students and those who had gone there to grace the occasion.

The callers in their rather scaring and frustrated tune, called on the presidency to immediately dismissed those EPS officers who were duty during the incident, and further asked the newly nominated Director of the Executive Protection Service to immediately reshuffle the entire workforce of the EPS.
