Liberians Concern About The Whereabouts Of Their First Lady, Amid COVID-19 Wrath

A pro-democratic group, the National Poliburo of Liberia has publicly expressed serious concern over the whereabouts of their First Lady, Madam Clar Marie Weah in the face of the deadly COVID-19 outbreak in the country which has been declared as Pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO).

According to the group, the prolong absence of President George Manneh Weah’s wife; Mrs. Clar Marie Weah from the country in the wake of the outbreak of the Coronavirus speaks volumes.

The Chairman of the group, Victor Balo, said the absence from the First Lady from the country does for the country, especially during the time the Liberian nation is faced with a serious health crisis, when the office of the First Lady is urgently needed to assist the vulnerable people.

Speaking to reporters in Monrovia recently, Mr. Balo who did not say exactly where the First Lady is at the moment and her mission there, however, called on the Liberian government to immediately begin the process of transferring half a million United States Dollars allotted to the office of the First Lady towards the health sector.

“We believe this is the time for the Liberian First Lady to come out and help the Liberian people; her office benefit from financial allotment that is tied to providing humanitarian services. She must come out now and allow the people benefit from their money,” Mr. Balo exclaimed.

According to report, the Liberian First Lady left the country early this year, 2020 and is believed she is in the United States.
