Liberian Senate Reaches Decision To Terminate Tenure Positions

The Liberian Senate reaches decision to terminate tenure positions at some key government ministries and agencies

The decision of the senate plenary was triggered on votes taken by individual senators on Tuesday, up Capitol Hill.

Institutions affected by the senate action include: Liberia Revenue Authority, Liberia Airport Authority, National Social Security and Welfare Corporation, National Oil Company of Liberia, National Fisheries and Aquaculture Authority among others.

Plenary also maintained the tenures of key integrity institutions, including the General Auditing Commission, National Elections Commission, Civil Service Agency and the Public Procurement and Concessions Commission.

In accordance with the new decision, anyone appointed to the LRA, RIA, NASSCORP and NOCAL will no longer serve tenure positions
