Liberian Gospel Musical Staff, Kanvee Adams ‘Suffers’ Injustice, Abuses In Nigeria; Sends Out SOS Calls
Information reaching the GNN says a Liberian Gospel Musical Star, Kanvee Adams, has prematurely ended her ‘mega deal’ with Nigerian music label DAAR Music Global Limited, while at the same time alleging multiple abuses including sexual assault and verbal abuses at the hands of its Chairman High Chief Raymond Dokpesi, Sr.
It can be recalled that the Nigerian group signed the Liberian multiple award-winning Gospel star in 2019 on a seven-year deal. The Liberian Gospel icon became Daar Music Global’s signed first artiste on its label in elaborate ceremonies held in Lagos and later in Abuja. Aside from the alleged non-settlement to the artiste for the deal, High Chief Raymond Dokpesi Sr, the founder of Daar Communications Pls and owner of a media conglomerate of the DSTV-aired AIT and Ray Power FM across Nigeria, stands accused of the multiple sexual assaults and abuses.
Chief Dokpesi is a highly influential member of the Nigerian opposition, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), currently chairing the Technical Committee of Presidential Candidate Atiku Abubakar.
Now, that ‘marriage’ that trended both in the Liberian and Nigerian media spaces has gone very muddy with the Liberian Gospel icon repeatedly alleging the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of DAAR Music Global Limited, Chief Dokpesi, Sr of sexual assault and verbal abuses. Sources close to the mega award winning Gospel star have also disclosed how the Nigerian company has since refused to settle her for the three-years spent on its label. According to our source, ever since she stood up to him and promised to expose him, the chief Raymond has subjected her and her family to tremendous pain and suffering including cutting off allowance for over one year plus.
Though Kanvee so far has refused to comment on the issue, sources further narrated that the traumatized Liberian Gospel musician and her children are no longer feeling safe in Nigeria, putting her family under pressure to urgently leave their Lagos residence on reported threat for her to expose Chief Dokpesi.
“For every pain and suffering, trauma and depression you have put me through I promise you Raymond Dokpesi, you will pay”, the source quotes the traumatized Liberian Gospel Queen as lamenting.
Several attempts to verify the allegations against Chief Dokpesi failed.
Meanwhile, the sources also revealed that the Liberian Ambassador accredited to Nigeria, His Excellency Ambassador Al-Hasan Conteh has since been briefed on the matter. We are reliably informed that the songstress sought the intervention of the Liberian Ambassador Dr Al-Hassan Conteh over one year ago but unfortunately it seems the Chief Liberian Diplomat in Nigeria couldn’t help the stranded Liberian artiste out of what is now a dire situation.
The sources further revealed that the Ambassador Conteh who apparently got frustrated for not being able to find a peaceful settlement on the matter reportedly resorted to ignoring Kanvee’s calls and texts on the back of her insistence for his intervention as the Liberian Government’s sole representative to Nigeria who represented the Liberian Government during the signing ceremony in 2019 in Nigeria.
Attempts to reach the Liberian Ambassador have not materialized as he hasn’t responded to text messages sent him.
At the same time, the sources revealed that Kanvee has sent out an SOS call to help her family safely come out of Nigeria after which she may go public.
However, effort to contact Raymond Dokpesi DAA via with his Nigerian mobile numbers failed.
