MONROVIA, April 21 (LINA) – Vice President Jewel Howard Taylor has launched a two million Liberian dollar macro-loan program for women in Klay District, Bomi County.
Speaking at a launch ceremony of a modern Mosque constructed by officials of the United Arab Emirates in Klay Town, Klay District, Bomi County, Vice President Taylor said the macro-loan program is another fulfillment of one of the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) campaign promises to the women of Bomi County during the 2017 general elections.
According to Vice President Taylor, the electorates of Bomi County are people of their word and, as such, the CDC-led government will do everything to bring development to Bomi.
Meanwhile, Vice President Taylor wants citizens of Bomi County to help maintain the peace of the country and address problems they are face with to their local leadership and the Legislative Caucus.
“Peace and unity are the best keys to maintaining development; in the absence of peace there will be no development in a country,” Vice President Taylor said.
She added that every Librarian should help pray for Liberia so that the country’s peace and stability will remain throughout the land.
VP Taylor also donated L$150,000 along with one 5kva generator to the newly-dedicated Mosque.
Meanwhile, Bomi County Senator Sando Johnson has described the Vice President as a “Champion of Heritage” in the Liberia society.
Johnson observed that Vice President Taylor served the people of Liberia even when many Liberians were displaced in camps within their country.
Johnson recounted the services rendered by Vice President Taylor to citizens of Bomi during the county’s civil crisis and disclosed that the VP has an attachment to Bomi through former Liberian President Charles Taylor.
“Let us not take the Vice President as another person to us but a wife of this soil,” said Senator Johnson.
