LIBERIA: ‘Vice President Taylor Encroached On My Land To Build Her Fence’ – Victim Complains
Mrs. Doris Bedell has alleged that the Liberian Vice President, Chief Dr. Jewel Howard-Taylor encroached on parcel of land in Gbarnga, Bong County during the construction of her compound’s fence few years ago.
Speaking to the GNN recently in Monrovia, Mrs. Bedell who appeared frustrated over the situation also alleged that the Vice President after noticing what was done, promised to refund Mrs. Bedell for the encroachment, but since then said refund is yet to be received.
The victim further claimed that she her husband informed the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr. Bhofal Chambers for his intervention, but up to present there has been no redress on the issue.
“At one of the meetings with the Vice President few years ago to register our concern, she promised us that refund was going to be made, but up to this time nothing has been done; we are calling on her to make good her promises made to us”, the Bedells speaking to our staff pondered.
Effort by our staff to contact the offices of the Vice President last week could not be materialized, as staffer at the office could not address the issue.
Investigation continues.
