Liberian US Based Journalist, James K. Seitua, Sr. Laid to Rest – Pictures

The Late James K. Seitua, Sr.

The Friends of James K. Seitua, Sr. from the Association of Liberian Journalists in the Americas (ALJA)/Press Union of Liberia (PUL), and a cross section of Liberians, and none Liberians, joined the bereaved family in paying homage to the deceased former journalist at a well-attended funeral held at the Russell & Pica Funeral Home in Brockton, MA, November 5.

Glowing tributes came from the Liberian Association of the South Shore of Massachusetts, media Friends of James K. Seitua, Sr., and the family. Interment followed at the Melrose Cemetery in Brockton, MA.

Mr. James S. Seitua, 67, former Editor-in-Chief of the Daily Observer Newspaper (Liberia), and a founding member of ALJA in 1998, died October 13, 2022, at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton, Massachusetts, following a period of sickness.

In 1986, Mr. Seitua joined the Daily Observer as a Senior Reporter, and rose to Deputy News Editor in the 1980s. The 36-year media veteran worked  under the guardianship of Managing Director Kenneth Yarkparo Best and Editor-in-Chief, the late Stanton B. Peabody.

Born December 5, 1954 in Bendaja, Porkpa District, Cape Mount County, Mr. Seitua attended the Lott Carey Mission High School in Liberia, and the University of Liberia (UL). He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Olivia Seitua, three children (Marcia Seitua, James S. Seitua, Jr., and  Jimmlyn Seitua), one grandchild, including other relatives and friends.
