LIBERIA: US Ambassador to Liberia donates educational materials to an orphanage school in Kakata

United States Ambassador to Liberia Michael McCarthy has donated huge consignment of educational materials to the Youth Elementary orphanage school in Kakata Margibi County.

According to the US envoy, the donation is intended to alleviate the many challenges the institution usually face in educating the future leaders of Liberia.

Ambassador McCarthy who once served as Peace Corps volunteer in Togo, said the United States of America and Liberia has been a partner in progress, evidence by that is the allowing of Peace Corps volunteers to come to Liberia and train not just in education but to learn Liberian culture and religious belief and practices.

An enormous consignment of educational materials cartoons including chalks, dusters, folders and markers among others were items donated to the youth Elementary School by the US Ambassador Michael McCarthy.

Receiving the donation, the principal of the school Mr. Samuel Wennie described the donation as relieve for his administration especially during a period when the country is experiencing an economy crisis, indicating that the donated materials will serve the institution for over two years.

He further that base on the humanitarian good-will of the administration, they may share with other schools that are lacking of those materials.

Youth Elementary School is a junior school that is operated by a Liberian who is passionate about educating the future leaders of Liberia and is also operating an orphanage home where children who are consider less-fortunate in society are taking care of in seeking refuge.
