LIBERIA: US Ambassador Pays Courtesy Visit to House Speaker Chambers
The United States Ambassador Extraordinary plenipotentiary H. E. Amb. Michael A. Mccarthy today pay a courtesy visit to the Honorable Speaker of the 54th Legislature House of Representatives, Dr. Bhofal Chambers at his Capitol Building Office in Monrovia.
Pertinent amongst issues discussed were; rule of law, good governance, elections, security.
Amb. Mccarthy also recommitted the United States Government continued engagements and support to Liberia. He says the Liberian Legislature plays a very important role in the governance process of the Liberian State, whilst commending Speaker Chambers for the level of leadership so far.
The US Ambassador furthers that Liberia remains close to the hearts of the American people, and America stands ready to be there for Liberia and support the development of the country, as America has been carrying on lots of support to Liberia in various sectors, ranging from electricity, security, education, governance, health, rule of law, amongst others.
For his part, House Speaker, Dr. Bhofal Chambers lauded the US diplomat for the visit. Dr. Chambers says given the historic ties between Liberia and United States, he believes that America remains one of Liberia’s truest friends.
Speaker Chambers than extended his compliments to the American people for their successful Presidential Election which ushered in Hon. Joe Biden as the 45th President of the United States.
The Speaker further pledged the commitment of the House of Representatives to work with the United States Government as they buttressed Liberia’s efforts towards development and prosperity.
