Grand Gedeh County District # 1 Representative Zoe Emmanuel Pennue has affirmed his decision to contest the pending December 8, 2020 Midterm Senatorial Election, while at the same time crossing carpet over to the ruling Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) as one of the newest members to join the party.
Addressing a news conference at his residence, in Monrovia yesterday, July 20, 2020, Representative Pennue said he was joining the CDC because, according to him the party has demonstrated its ability to transform Liberia for everybody irrespective of political affiliations.
The lawmaker disclosed that he was recently petitioned by his constituents to contest the senatorial race in the county and to also join CDC.
Based on this, Rep. Pennue said he accepted his constituents’ petition because they are the ones that elected him to represent their interest.
The lawmaker said he is taking his supporters to CDC in order to ensure that the party wins the senatorial race in the county.
Rep. Pennue said he will be a great asset to CDC, a party that he cherishes so much. “I am proud to be a CDCian ready to go for primary,” the lawmaker said.
Rep. Pennue said he will work with officials of the party in the county to ensure that CDC wins bigly come December 8, 2020, saying “with my own popularity coming to the CDC plus CDC popularity that makes it 200 percent CDC…”
He called on all of his supporters both at home and abroad to join him in CDC. At the same time, Rep. Pennue has frowned on Liberians who are in the habit of insulting their leaders especially President Dr. George Manneh Weah and at the same time demonizing the country.
He said it is wrong for anyone to insult the president just because of political reasons; adding politics aside, “Liberia is the only country that we all have…”
Few weeks ago, Senators George Tengbeh and Henry Yallah of Lofa and Bong Counties joined CDC, something political pundits described as major boost to the party’s senatorial chances.
