ZWEDRU, (LINA) – A book that will purportedly tell “the real story” of the April 12,1980 coup d’etat and assassination of former President Samuel Kanyon Doe in 1990 is slated to be published shortly, Grand Gedeh County District #Two Representative, Dr. George E.S. Boley, has said.

He made the disclosure at a program marking the 68th birth anniversary of Liberia’s 20th President, Samuel Kanyon Doe, at the Zwedru City Hall recently.

The program followed a parade through the principal streets of Zwedru that was organized by the United Students Association (USA), comprising students of public, private and faith-based institutions of the Zwedru School System.

Boley said one of those who were freed on that fateful day is to tell the true story that will help researchers know the facts, instead of listening to hearsay.

Dr. Boley then thanked the organizers of the memorial, noting that “if you believe in everything, you stand for nothing,” and urged the students to believe in themselves.

During the program, Dr. Boley awarded scholarships to two students, a male and female, to attend any public or private school of their choice.
