Liberia Renews Support for Morocco’s Territorial Integrity

Rabat – Liberia reiterated today its support for Morocco’s territorial integrity and sovereignty over all its territories including its southern provinces in Western Sahara.

Liberia conveyed its steadfast position in a joint statement following talks between Morocco’s Foreign Affairs Minister Nasser Bourita and his Liberian counterpart Sara Beysolow Nyanti.

In the joint statement, Foreign Minister, Beysolow Nyanti, renewed her country’s support for Morocco’s Autonomy Plan, describing it as the “only reliable and realistic solution” to end the dispute over Western Sahara.

She also expressed support for the UN as the exclusive framework for reaching a realistic, practical, and permanent solution to the dispute over the Western Sahara. Nyanti added that Liberia is “extremely proud of the relationship and partnership” established between the two countries.

For his part, the Moroccan Foreign Minister expressed his appreciation for Liberia’s steadfast and unwavering support for Morocco’s territorial integrity.

He also recalled that Liberia was among countries that opened a consulate in Morocco’s southern provinces, specifically in Dakhla in March 2020. The opening of the consulate reflects Liberia’s unwavering support for Morocco’s territorial integrity.
