LIBERIA: Protest Overwhelms Zwedru In Reaction To The ‘Missing NEC Employee’, Entrances In And Out Blocked

Report coming from the southeastern county of Grand Gedeh County speaks of serious protest led by several women of Konobo District in Grand Gedeh set-up roadblocks, demanding search operation for NEC local staff reported missing.
According to our Correspondent, dozens of protesters have resolved to stage a peaceful march throughout the principle streets of the county’s capital, Zwedru calling on authority about the reported missing of Alfred Dunner, terming the disappearance of the NEC local staff as scaring for citizens in the County.
All entrances in and out of Zwedru City have been blocked, some of the travelers who boarded vehicles from the city have been turned back, while those trying to enter the city have been ordered not to enter. At the same time, the protesters have resolved to continue their protest until investigation is conducted into the matter.
Meanwhile, Grand Gedeh County Superintendent Kaie Farley called for calm among the citizens, and encouraged them to join the government in search for the missing NEC officer.
