LIBERIA: President Weah lauds Asamoah Gyan at book Launch Represented at event by Foreign Minister Kemayah

President George Manneh Weah has celebrated Ghanaian footballer Asamoah Gyan in a speech delivered on his behalf by Liberian Foreign Minister Dee-Maxwell Kemayah on Saturday, 30 April 2022. He said countries should honour people who have contributed to the all sectors of society.

President Weah also urged Mr. Gyan to use his stature to promote Ghana. President Weah further noted that Mr. Gyan has left an indelible mark on the history of Ghanaian football and will always be respected.

Ambassador Kemayah made these remarks on behalf of the President at the launch of Asamoah Gyan’s autobiography titled “LeGyandary” at the Kempinski Hotel in Accra, Ghana. The President, who was invited to the ceremony as Guest of Honour, was represented by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Liberia, Ambassador Dee-Maxwell Kemayah.

President of the Republic of Ghana,  Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo, officially launched the book.

The autobiography of Asamoah Gyan spans his career of more than two decades and includes previously unknown events from his spectacular career as a Ghanaian football icon and record-breaking striker for the Black Stars. The book also highlights Mr. Gyan’s life off the football pitch, including his contributions to the growth of boxing and tennis, as well as his charitable endeavours.

In his speech, Mr. Gyan expressed his gratitude for the love and support he received at the book launch. and believes that the book, which chronicles his career, will inspire future generations.

President Akufo-Addo and Foreign Minister Kemayah were among the dignitaries who attended the book launch, which included leading politicians, business tycoons, football administrators and current and former football players from across the globe.
