LIBERIA: NEC Says By-Elections Will Now Be Held On Scheduled, Confirms Receiving Final Payment From Gov’t
The National Elections Commission (NEC) has announced that it has finally received the balance One Million United States Dollars from the Liberian government as final payment for the holding of the much talk about by-elections from both House of Representative and Senate after weeks of delay.
Making the disclosure to reporters today, July 25th, 2019, the Chairman of the NEC, Jerome Korkoya said this final payment complete the total of $2.5 Million United States Dollars, and will be used for the payment of poll workers and other expenses associated with the holding of the pending by-elections scheduled for the 29th of July.
