LIBERIA: NEC Officially Unveiled 2020 Referendum Symbols In Gompa City

Souvenir program marking the official Unveiling of the 2020 Referendum symbols is ongoing in Gompa City, Nimba County, and the three days event is expected to end on Wednesday October 7, 2020.
The exercise is intended to brighten the minds of County officials, traditional leaders, chiefs and elders from central, Northern and Southeastern Liberia on the symbols of the Referendum, elections awareness, and sensitization on the pending midterm senatorial elections in Montserrado County.
The official launching statement for the Unveiling of the 2020 referendum symbols was performed by the Chairperson of the National Elections Commission madam Davidetta Browne Lansanah, in her statement the NEC Chairperson called on Liberian to take the Referendum symbols very seriously in order to amend those provisions to the Liberian constitution.
Madam Browne Lansanah during the first day of the three days events, displayed the 2020 National Referendum symbols, which is categorized in three propositions which included: Propositions 1 Citizenship for Natural born Liberians, propositions 2 Reduction in Tenure of Elected Government officials and propositions 3 Change of Election date from the Raining Season in October to the Dry season in November.
She has assured the people of Liberia that the two elections will be conducted the same day on December 8, 2020 during the special senatorial elections.
