LIBERIA: Minister Nyenpan Reaffirms Gov’t Commitments

Public Works Minister Mabutu Nyenpan has reaffirmed the government of President George Manneh Weah through it Pro-poor Agenda for Prosperity and Development in paving major roads linking the fifteen counties of Liberia capital.

Minister Nyenpan said as a government for the poor, the Liberian leader is committed in the creating the enabling environment for all Liberian’s across the country.

During a special visit recently in Gbarnga, Bong County, Minister Nyenpan said the pavement of streets in Gbarnga will is one of the many streets under this government that is been fully supported by the Weah government.

Minister Nyenpan told journalists in Gbarnga over the weekend that every issue that authorities of Bong County and the Ministry of Public Works had with the contractor Sadani Holding has been settled and that the project will continue in line with the agreement they have reached.

He added that it is not only the Old One plus One to Star Gas Station that they will pave but will include other streets in the city including the one from around the GST Road to the Gbarnga Administration Building.

Minister Nyenpan said the government is not doing road for few years that’s why it attaches a lot of importance to quality work.

The Public Works Minister added that they will always stop project when any variation is suspected in contracts being awarded, adding that they will always move in when an alarm is raised about substandard work.

He put the cost of all of the streets that will be paved in the tune of Three Million United States Dollars.

About a month ago authorities of Bong County halted the pavement of the Gbarnga Broad Street, raising dissatisfaction over reduction in the size of the road East International started and alarmed also over substandard work.

Authorities of the Ministry of Public Works endorsed the stand of Bong County authorities and instructed the new company continuing the project Sadani Holding to stop until all concerns were addressed.

Minister Nyenpan concluded by encouraging citizens of the country to supports the government of President Weah in order to have a better and a develop Liberia.
