LIBERIA: ‘Mask Devils’ Set Bea Mountain On Fire As Police Moved In To Save The Day

The Kinjor Town in Gola Konneh District, Grand Cape Mount County got on fire today, January 10, 2022 when troop of the Emergency Response Unit (ERU) of the Liberian National Police forcibly moved in the town to bring tension under control allegedly by traditional mask devils on their three days protest.

According to GNN Correspondent in the County, it can be recorded that since January 8 2022 the Poro Masters seized the entire town for three days in demand of  several counts in favor of their citizens.

In their protest, they are demanding that the foreigners who are occupying positions that should be occupied by citizens be relinquished, noting positions in question include cooking, Selling in the super Market, Leave the power house amongst many other things including building of their roads and employment Etc.

Why the traditional Master were moving toward the Boon gate where the ERU were mounted, suddenly there was a sound of a gunfire, three times and the shouting of several rounds of tears gas preventing the Country Devil to back off, but the situation turn on the opposite when there was a Vehicle that gutted fire as a result of the shooting which had many to be panic.

As it stand the county officials are in the compound of the Bea Mountain Mining Company for negotiation on the stand of the traditional Master protest.

In an effort to calm down the situation the police have taken over the situation and there with free movement of people, after being in doors for hours.

Meanwhile, the Inspector General of the Police and some high ranking officials are said to be in the county.
