LIBERIA: James N. Davis, Jr. Memorial Hospital Cries For Support

Source closed to the GNN has hinted that the management of the James N. Davies, Jr. Memorial Hospital in the Neezo Community, Paynesville, outside Monrovia is in a dire need of urgent support from the Liberian Government and other donor agencies to come to its rescue due to the lack of support.

According to report, medical staffers including doctors and nurses say they are finding very difficult to perform their respective duties to save lives of dozens of patients who have gone to seek medical treatment due to the lack of essential drugs.

Currently, according to our source, this medical center is on a regular basis in darkness as a result of the lack of electricity, and other supplies needed for the smooth upkeep of the center.

Speaking on this terrible situation at the hospital, some patients who appeared wearied and troubled of situation at the hospital, told our reporter of their concern over the deplorable state of this health institution.

“Many nights we spent in darkness in this hospital, to make matter worse, the nurses here are complaining about the lack of drugs to treat us; this situation bothers me a lot,” one of the patients who preferred not to be named told the GNN.

However, with such situation at the James N. Davies, Jr. Memorial Hospital, this platform will like to add its voice to the plight of the hospital and dozens of patients who are crying for urgent support to the center.

The Liberian Government through the Ministry of Health must do something in bringing relief to the hospital in its quest for rapid support.
