The head of forestry Development Authority (FDA) in Nimba County, Sam Baa Kromah says he is facing serious challenges in regulating the enforcement of FDA activities in the county.
Mr. Kromah speaking in an exclusive interview with the in the said since he took assignment in 2018, he has been finding it very difficult to move around the county due to the lack of logistics and the inability of his men to perform their work professional as required of them has failed.
Explaining on how their activities affect the lives of the people in those communities, and further disclosed that to produce the forest materials, the community must regulate policy that chains saw owners enter into, in order for the community to be benefited directly.
He said the union of chain saw Association in Nimba County will be meeting with him any time this week in order to explain to them the full details of what they should be doing in the county.
Commenting on the revenue component of the FDA in Nimba County, the collector of revenue at the Ganta check point Mr. George L. Gaye maintained that they are also finding it difficult to collect revenue for Government due to the raining seasons which is fast approaching with the bad road conditions which is hampering their operations in the county and that there is need for those things to be addressed.
The FDA is one of the government agencies that is responsible for the collection of revenue to enable government paid civil servant in the country.
