LIBERIA: Grand Kru Police Charge City Solicitor For “Raping” 7-Year-Old
BARCLAYVILLE, (LINA) – The City Solicitor at the Sorroken Magisterial Court in Grand Kru County, Fancis Kaydor, 33, is accused of raping a seven-year-old girl on June14 in Naweken Trehn District.
The local prosecutor has denied the allegation.
But his denial of the allegation did not stop the Women and Children Protection Division of the county’s police detachment from nailing him with the charge of Statutory Rape.
The suspect was then sent to the Newaken Magisterial Court which has since forwarded the case to the 12th Judicial Circuit Court of Barclayville, the provincial capital.
However, the local legal practitioner is detained; awaiting trial once his case has been assigned by the court of record.
According to the alleged survivor’s grandmother, she questioned the minor several times over the matter, and established that the alleged perpetrator sent her (the girl) to his bedroom for twenty Liberian dollar and followed her there to commit the crime.
“He followed me in the room; jumped on me, took off my clothes and he did ‘man-and-women-business’ to me,” the child was quoted by her grandma, as saying.
Earlier, the Newaken Magisterial Court suggested that the child be sent to the Behwan Health Center for examination, and the clinic later confirmed “forceful penetration,” the girl’s grandma told LINA.
In the meantime the child was transferred to the Rally Time Hospital in Grandcess for “advanced” check-up.
