Grand Gedeh County most celebrated Lawmaker, Senator Zoe Emmanuel Pennue received traditional honor from kinsmen for being what they termed as bridge between the Government of President George Weah and the people of Grand Gedeh County.
Scores of prominent Grand Gedeans, especially citizens of Duogeebli ( one of the populated towns along the Toes Town, Zwedru high way) on November 29 joyously stumped the resident of Senator Pennue to appreciate and honor him for tireless efforts in recommending his kinsmen to the president for possible job appointments and making sure they secures positions in the National Government.
Among the cross section of Grand Gedeans gathered were Mr. Arthur Duogee, newly appointed 3rd secretary to republic of Japan, Mr. Philip Z. Joh, Fiscal Superintendent of Grand Gedeh County and many others citizens in Government’s positions.
As part of tradition, the group presented to their Senator a living goat as a symbol of appreciation and a gowned him with a beautiful traditional design attire which symbolizes high honor.
Making the presentation on behalf of the group, Elder Zean Ziaty applauded Senator Zoe Emmanuel Pennue for ensuring that Sons of Duogeebli and the County at large are occupying different positions in the CDC led government, he at the same time called on the Senator to keep on advocating in the best interest of the County.
” Hon Senator, my name is Zean Ziaty, I’m from Gaye’s town. We are all here today as Grand Gedeans to appreciate you for your tireless efforts, if I decide to name all that you have done for the County and individual lives you have impacted we will not leave from here today, helping people through the Social security process, recommending Grand Gedeans to be appointed by the president and several other individual benefits back home I can’t just name all but we say thank you and continue to push our County ” Zean Ziaty on behalf of the group.
Receiving the gifts, Senator Zoe Emmanuel Pennue thanked the group for the surprised recognition and reassured them of fulfilling his promises made to them, adding that his efforts in ensuring citizens of Grand Gedeh County get appointed position is part of his way of giving back to his people positively.
” What qualifies one to be a Man, is not his wealth or wife but words that comes out of his mouth. As a man if you speak and don’t abide by what you say it’s a shame. I appreciate your coming and promise to lobby with the President to make sure Grand Gedeh is well represented at all levels of government ” Senator stated.
This year Saied extended his power grab with a constitutional referendum marred by an official turnout of barely 30 percent.
