LIBERIA: Ex-Speaker Tyler Pays L$735k For Scholarships To Students in Bomi

TUBMANBURG – The former House Speaker of the 52nd and 53rd National Legislature, Alex Tyler, has paid L$735,000 to the Bomi Community College and LICOSESS Teachers Training Institute for beneficiary students of his scholarship program at the institutions located in Tubmanburg, Bomi County.

According to former Speaker Tyler, it is his way of buttressing government’s effort to provide quality education for Liberian students.

He disclosed that currently there are 167 students attending the Bomi Community College and the LICOSESS Teachers Training Institute under his scholarship program.

Accepting the students’ tuition fees, Bomi County Community College president, Dr. Mulbah Gray, commended former Speaker Tyler for living up to his commitment to ensure that the future generation gets quality education.

The BCC President disclosed that the former House Speaker is supporting the highest number of students through his scholarship program at the college.

Also making remarks, the Coordinator of LICOSESS Teachers Training Institute, lauded Mr. Tyler for supporting the training of teachers in the county to ensure that the shortage of teachers does not overwhelm the Bomi County School System.
