LIBERIA: Deputy House Speaker, Fonati Koffa Says There Was ‘Slip’ In AML’s  Agreement

The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representative, Cllr. Fonati Koffa, says the House’s decision to return the 3rd Arcelor Mittal Agreement to the Executive shows how the National Legislature should not pass law without proper due diligent.

Speaking on ELBC’s Legislative Hour program Thursday, July 28, 2022, Deputy Speaker Koffa said:” There was a slip in the process”, noting that the negotiation of an agreement cannot constitute two years, and such is legislative within a period of three months.

He admitted that Mittal investment potential in Liberia, but added that the members of the House of Representatives sought accountability.

Deputy House Speaker Cllr. Fonati Koffa thought that it was important for the Executive to review Mittal’s current agreement, preceding an adult pointing to its corporate deliverables.
