The Liberia Coast Guard is once again in the national spotlight, as its Commander, Captain Denniel Z.B. Holman, has been honored by the National Mirrors Newspaper as a “Hardworking Officer 2025-2026” for his unwavering dedication, transformative leadership, and distinguished service to the nation.
This prestigious recognition highlights the tireless efforts of Captain Holman and the entire Coast Guard team stationed at the Bushrod Island base—an elite unit playing a vital role in safeguarding Liberia’s territorial waters and promoting national security.
The ceremony, held on June 6, 2025, at the Coast Guard headquarters on Bushrod Island, saw Commander Holman humbly dedicate the honor to his team. “This award is not just for me; it’s for all the brave and committed men and women who serve selflessly every single day,” he stated. “As a commander, I provide direction, but they are the ones doing the hard work that keeps our mission alive.”
Commander Holman also extended heartfelt thanks to his wife, acknowledging her steadfast support throughout his journey: “My wife plays an essential role in every part of my life; her encouragement and presence have been a guiding light, especially during challenging times.”
The honor underscores the growing respect for the Liberia Coast Guard as a pillar of the Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL) and the country’s broader national security framework.
