LIBERIA: BWI to offer associate degree in technical field next academy – Principal Tarnue revealed

The principal of the Booker Washington Institute, Harris Tarnue has reveals that the institution is post to offer Associate Degree in technical fields beginning next academic year in partnership and Affiliation with the University of Liberia.
Addressing Journalists in a press conference on Tuesday November 16, 2021, Atty. Harris Tarnue noted that the launch of the program next academic year will prioritize three key sectors, naming Agriculture, Electricity and Accounting.
He asserted that the program if implemented, will afford students the opportunity to have both Diploma and Associate Degree in their field of specialization making them well prepare for the job market.
Principal Tarnue further that with the upgrading of the school by EU Rising Project, the institution is well equip with the necessary man power, facilities and equipment in carrying on such unique project, indicating that they will definitely have the best technical school, not only in Liberia but perhaps within the west African region.
He lamented that the recent wave of retirement was badly hit by BWI not just the institution but rather all public institutions across the country base on the new NASCORPS retirement law that says all government employees of age 60 must retire.
