LIBERIA: Alex Tyler Appointment Withdraws From ArcelorMittal Board

After a ground rooted noise of the appointment of former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Alex Tyler to the Board of ArcelorMittal Operating Company, the Liberian leader, President George M. Weah has with immediate effect has withdrawn his nomination.

The former Speaker among several senior government officials were linked to a high profile bribery scandal amounting to nearly one million United States Dollars by a UK based mining company.

The officials named are House Speaker Alex Tyler, former NIC boss Richard Tolbert, Sen. Morris Saytumah, Bishop Willie Belleh of the Betthel World Ministry, then Chairman of the Public Procurement Concession Commission and National Security Chief Fombah Sirleaf.thers are former Sen. Cletus Wotorson, former Sen. Sumo Kupee, now LPRC Managing Director, E.C.B Jones, former Deputy Minister of Lands and Mines with two unnamed individuals who took US250,000 each.

According to a press release issued by the Executive Mansion, a replacement nomination will be announced shortly.
