LDEA Arrests Student With 79 Kilogram Of Marijuana

The Liberia Drugs enforcement Agency LDEA Bong county detachment has arrested a student of the Bong County Technical College age 28 with 79 kilogram of marijuana in Gbarnga.

Marijuana is a dangerous drug that damages the brain and makes people abnormal.

The street value of the 79 kilogram of marijuana is placed at little over five hundred fifty three thousand Liberian dollars.

According to the commander of the LDEA Bong county detachment Alex Taweh, suspect Christopher Narmei was arrested in the civil compound community while in route to market the drugs in Monrovia Montserrado County.

It is reported that suspect Christopher Narmei has been involved with drugs trafficking in the civil compound community, a situation the Bong DEA Commander Alex Taweh has described as against the development of Liberia.

The Bong DEA Boss is meanwhile urging residents of the County to join the fight in battling drugs trafficking in the County by informing the DEA about drugs related issues in their various communities.

For his part, suspect Christopher Narmei who claims to be a student of the Bong county technical college said he decided to venture in the sale of drugs in order to sustain himself and his family.

He noted that he is self supported and don’t have anyone to sponsor him in school and other activities.

He however appealed to the Liberia drugs enforcement agency to have mercy on him and set him free.

The issue of Drugs trafficking in the Liberia centrally located County is becoming serious on daily basis evidence by numerous arrests made by the DEA over the past.

Since January of this year, more than twenty persons have been arrested in Bong County including a Teacher with drugs.

In order for these activates to come to a standstill, some of the residents of the County are calling on the LDEA to keep the battle in ensuring that drugs trafficking can be curtailed.
