LDEA Arrests 74-Year-Old Ghanaian Woman with $1,200 Marijuana in Robertsport

Robertsport, Grand Cape Mount County – June 14, 2025 – The Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) has apprehended a 74-year-old Ghanaian national, Grace Kuasi, for the illegal possession of narcotics in the Fanti Town Community of Robertsport.
The arrest occurred on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at approximately 2:00 PM, following the execution of a court-approved search warrant issued by the Robertsport Magisterial Court.
Acting on the warrant, LDEA officers conducted a targeted raid on Ms. Kuasi’s residence, where they uncovered a stash of narcotics cleverly concealed within her kitchen. Authorities discovered nineteen (19) compressed plates of marijuana, which the LDEA estimates to have a combined street value of US1,200, equivalent to approximately LD$ 228,000.
Following a thorough preliminary investigation, Grace Kuasi has been formally charged under Liberia’s amended drug law and subsequently forwarded to the Robertsport Magisterial Court for immediate prosecution.
The LDEA has unequivocally reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to intensifying its crackdown on drug trafficking and abuse across all parts of Liberia. The agency emphasized that no individual, regardless of age or nationality, is above the law in its comprehensive national campaign against illicit narcotics.
