LCC, LIBA Hold Third ‘Made In Liberia’ Street Sales Fair

Locally made products were today, Saturday, March 30, 2019 once again put on display in the heart of Monrovia, the nation’s capital, as Liberians and foreign residents queued out to view Liberian home made products including food, fabric, and wooden designs of all kinds.

This event as usual was organized by the Liberia Chamber of Commerce (LCC) and the Liberia Business Association (LIBA) in collaboration with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) aimed are promoting locally made Liberian products on the local and international markets.

The event which started as early as 7am this morning brought together dozens of Liberian entrepreneurs with executives of the LCC, LIBA and MoCI in full attendance to grace the occasion.

Speaking in separate interviews with reporters on the importance of this monthly event, the Secretary General of the Liberia Chamber of Commerce (LCC), Ms. SalaMartu Stephanie Duncan expressed gratitude to the many participants who turned out to display their products.

She noted that the aimed and objective of this exercise is to promote and expose locally made products on both the Liberian and international markets, and further expressed thanks to other stakeholders who took up time to form part of the exercise.

For his part, the President of the Liberia Business Association (LIBA), James Strother said he is excited of the level of support being gathered by the Liberian business community, especially those who are involved in local production, and further promised assured the decentralization of the exercise.

Also speaking at the program was Mrs. Helen Howard an executive from the office of the Minister of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) who bragged of the CDC-led Government’s support towards the growth and development of the Liberian businesses.

Mrs. Howard echoed the commitment of the government to empower Liberians who are interested in doing businesses, noting that Liberians will no more be spectators in their own country in the area of doing business.

This event, ‘Made in Liberia’ Street sales is held every last Saturday of each month bringing together locally made products to be sold and viewed by the public.
