President William Ruto’s administration championed the use of electric mobility to streamline climate change solutions

Kenya Institute for Public Policy Research and Analysis (KIPPRA) 2023 report showed that the country intends to import 20,000 units of electric vehicles (EVs)

Kenya Bureau of Standards directed importers of such vehicles to ensure they have a battery life of not less than 80%

Importers of second-hand electric vehicles (EVs) should ensure they conform to the Kenya Standards of Imports Order. A fleet of electric vehicles (EVs) displayed for customers.

The Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) directed that all used EVs imported into the country should have a battery life of 80%.
