Justice Minister Denies Forming Part Of Any Meeting To Shut Down Spoon Network

Following news report that some senior government officials including the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Republic of Liberia, Cllr. Frank Musa Dean, Monrovia City Mayor, Jefferson Koijee and Montserrado County Representative, Acarous Moses Gray met at a called meeting to discuss the shutdown of Spoon Network, the Justice Minister has denied effort forming part of any such meeting.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with GNN via mobile phone, the Attorney General, Cllr. Frank Musa Dean said he has never form part of any meeting to order the shutdown of Spoon Network as been alleged by the former Chief Executive Officer of Spoon Group of Companies owner of Spoon TV Live and Radio, Mr. Stanton Witherspoon.

Serving as one of the Panelists on DN-News Liberia online TV on Saturday, May 6, 2023, said several officials in the government held a meeting at undisclosed site where it was highlighted on the show for the immediate shut down of the network for its critical stance against the government.

He said those in the meeting included Montserrado County district #8 Representative, Acarous Moses Gray, Monrovia City Mayor; Jefferson Koijee, the Minister of Justice, Cllr. Frank Musa Dean, Information Minister; Ledgerhood Rennie for the sole purpose of closing down Spoon Network.

According to Mr. Witherspoon, the discussants after the meeting resolved to wait for the return of the Liberian leader, President George Weah who is currently out of the country for the planned action to be taken. But in reaction, the Justice Minister in a soft-spoken via mobile phone said at no time he ever formed part of any meeting to discuss the shutting down of Spoon Network as was alleged by Mr. Witherspoon
