It Is Scaring As Presidential Guards Reportedly Face With Salary Delay

Flash member of the EPS providing protection for the presidency

GNN has reliably learned that officers of the presidential security service, the Executive Protection Service (EPS) have for the past three months have not allegedly been paid their salaries, a situation that reportedly has created serious mixed feelings amongst members of the entity.

Effort by our staff to gather detail of this alleged report of ‘Salary delay’ however, met series of setbacks, as our source said due to the nature of the work being performed by these men, voicing out their plight would be impossible, but the expression on the faces of these men could arguably tell their story.

When asked as to how they are been surviving over the past three months, our  source said at times the Chief Executive, President George Weah on what our source called, “On humanitarian grounds’ provide some token (Cash) to those officially posted to him on a regular basis.

“We appreciate the kind gesture of the President, but such amount cannot help us in the payment of our children’s school fees and other expenses that we have to cover,” our source at the EPs who preferred not to be named told the GNN in an exclusive chat.

Efforts by our staff to contact the boss of the entity, Mr. Trokon Roberts as to the actual reason of the delay for the payment of salary of his officers proved unsuccessful, as our reporter was told that the Director is on official assignment with the Liberian leader who is in New York at the United Nations.

The source also disclosed that some details are being worked out in addressing the plight of the officers in the payment of their salaries.

Details will follow in our subsequent posting.
