Information Minister Dissolves Miss Liberia 2019 Organizing Committee
The Minister of Information, Cultural Affairs and Tourism (MICAT), Lenn Eugene Nagbe, has with immediate effect dissolved the Miss Liberia 2019 Organizing Committee.
Nagbe, in a MICAT release issued on Monday, also announced the suspension of all preparatory activities leading up to the hosting of the Miss Liberia 2019 Beauty Pageant.
The pageant is an annual event held under the auspices of the Ministry of Information, Cultural Affairs and Tourism and was due to be hosted later this year.
But, the Information Minister in the release called on the public to totally disregard all publications of promotional materials, particularly those bearing the photograph of President George Weah because, according to him, they were neither authorized nor approved by MICAT.
Nagbe, however, indicated that would-be contestants who incurred expenses as the result of their engagement with the committee and other stakeholders, who made contributions, will be reimbursed.
