In $16 Billion ‘Mysterious Disappearance’ Gov’t Issues Security Circular, Imposes Travel Ban On Several Individuals Including Ex-CBL Governor

The Government of Liberia has issued a National Security Circular advising persons of interest who are required to assist with the ongoing investigation into circumstances surrounding the importation of Liberian dollar banknotes into Liberia between November 2017 and August, 2018, not to leave the country.
The Government says it takes the ongoing investigation seriously because it has National Security implications.
Authorities at all points of entry/exit, including land borders, air and sea ports have been directed to take due cognizance of the circular.
According to a Ministry of Information release issued on Tuesday, the investigation team has asked for the continued cooperation of the following individuals:

Mariea E. G. Toe
Musulyn R. B. Jackson
Ophelia Nyenpan
Oldada Deshield
Prince Bull
Barquolleh Gabriel

Meanwhile, former Central Bank of Liberia Governor Milton Weeks will visit the headquarters of the Liberia National Police at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday to continue his assistance to the investigation.
