As the CDC-led government crave to supporting gender equity by placing more women in government, a situation that has been applauded by many including the international community, but many of those women given the opportunity to serve in authority are calling on the Liberian leader to empower them with vehicles for easy access in the performing of their duties.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with the GNN-Liberia in Barclayville City, Grand Kru County, the City Mayor of the City of Barclayville, Madam Benetor Blamo expressed thanks and appreciation to the Liberian leader, President George Manneh for affording her and other women the opportunity to serve in his government.
Madam Blamo as one of the female Mayoress in the CDC-led government, according to residents of the City of Barclayville has reportedly done a lot to bring dignity to the beauty of the City of Barclayville; making sure that all city ordinances are adhered to by all residents of Barclayville given a complete beautification of the one of Liberia’s oldest cities, Barclayville.
The Barclayville City Mayoress who passionately appeared to making sure that her City becomes one of the cleanest, and good looking in the sight of the first time visitors in the city to be pleased of its beautifully layout and touristic attraction, and further vowed to do all in her power for the city to maintain perpetually its beauty.
“I ride motorbike daily to carry out my administrative work as City Mayoress of this great City of Barclayville, I am appealing to His Excellency Dr. George Manneh Weah to kindly make available a vehicle to the City of Barclayville in order to make my work easier in the adequate promotion of the Pro-Poor Agenda for Prosperity and Development as we strive to serve our people in this government, the people’s government,” Madam Blamo speaking to the GNN-Liberia stressed.
According to report, several Liberian women have been given the opportunity by the Liberian leader to serve as city Mayoress including Ellen Blessing Howe of Harper City, Maryland County, Cecelia H. Jalo of the City of Zwedru, Grand Gedeh County, Viola Cooper of the City of Gbarnga, Bong County, Rebecca Benson of the City of Tubmanburg, Bomi County, Julia Bono of the City of Buchanan, Grand Bassa County among others.
