Hon. Arthurson Gonlee Announces Decision Not to Contest Buu-Yao Electoral District Five, Nimba County By-Election, Focus Shifts to 2029 General Elections
Buu-Yao Electoral District Five, Nimba County, Liberia– July 4, 2025 – Hon. Arthurson Gonlee today announced his decision not to contest the upcoming Buu-Yao District by-election, following extensive reflection and broad consultations with stakeholders, community leaders, and supporters.
In a statement to his constituents, Hon. Gonlee articulated, “This decision was not taken lightly. It stems from a deep respect for the political process, the current dynamics on the ground, and a strategic commitment to ensuring that our long-term vision for Buu-Yao is not compromised by rushed or reactionary decisions.” He further added, “I believe that stepping back at this time will allow us to re-organize, reflect, and reposition ourselves for more impactful engagement in the 2029 General Elections.”
Despite not being a candidate in this by-election, Hon. Gonlee reiterated his unwavering commitment to the future of Buu-Yao and the development agenda he has consistently championed.
