Eminent citizens and prominent political figures from Foya District, Lofa County, gathered at the Rehab Community Residence of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. on the evening of Tuesday, October 27, 2026, to officially resolve long-standing political rivalries and restore harmony to the district.

The high-level meeting marked a significant turning point for Foya District, where political friction had previously strained relationships among families and community members. Recognizing the need to heal these divisions, local leaders sought the guidance, blessings, and mediation of President Boakai, who serves both as the nation’s Chief Executive and as a respected elder figure from the region.

The gathering featured traditional reconciliation rituals, during which attendees engaged in open dialogue, acknowledged past missteps, offered formal apologies, and extended mutual forgiveness. President Boakai graciously welcomed the initiative, granting his blessing to signal a fresh chapter of solidarity, mutual respect, and peaceful coexistence throughout the district.

A central highlight of the event was the public reconciliation between key political leaders, including Internal Affairs Minister Francis Sakilah Nyumalin and Foya District Representative Thomas P. Fallah, who also serves as Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives. Setting aside past political disputes, the two leaders embraced warmly, reaffirming their commitment to working together for the progress and development of their shared home.

The resolution was enthusiastically celebrated by the assembled delegation, who hailed the outcome as a major victory for community cohesion and long-term peace. With political tensions now defused, leaders and residents alike look forward to a renewed era of unity and shared purpose across Foya District.
