Some groups of health workers in Liberia have commended President Joseph Boakai for nominating Hon. Roger Domah as Deputy Health Minister for Administration.
On February 20, 2024, President Joseph Boakai nominated Hon. Roger S.W.Y. Domah, as Deputy Health Minister for Administration. But he has not gone for confirmation at the Liberian Senate due to political manipulations as some individuals want his nomination overturned in favor of Martha Morris who was nominated as Assistant Health Minister for Administration.
Since the nomination of Hon. Domah, there has been news of attempted conspiracies and manipulations by certain self-interested individuals close to the presidency seeking his withdrawal from the post.
Mr. Roger Domah possesses the requisite qualifications, competence and experience to serve as Deputy Minister for Administration at the Ministry of Health.
Mr. Domah who is a son of Nimba County, is experienced and holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration, which equipped him with the needed administrative know-how in public sector governance, human resource and budget management, strategic planning and public policy implementation.
Additionally, Domah’s essential skills reveals that he holds several papers in leadership, management, organizational behavior and institutional administration.
“Hon. Domah’s experience in the health sector, evident by his job experiences with the John F. Kennedy (JFK) Hospital and Ganta United Methodist Hospital; coupled with his educational background and competence make him a suitable candidate for the position of Deputy Minister for Administration at the Ministry of Health,” one of the health workers said.
“We as health workers are happy with the nomination of Hon. Domah. There have lots of things since the nomination of Hon. Roger Domah and we want the decision of the president respected. The nomination has been since two weeks and the delay in confirming him is causing lots of issues for us. We appreciate the President and ask the Liberian Senate to speed up with the confirmation for things to go on smoothly at the Ministry of Health. This is a very important in the Ministry of Health
Meanwhile, Health workers in Nimba have joined their colleagues to appreciate President Boakai for nominating Domah. They spoke through Dekergar Daniel, their official spokesman.
