According to our Correspondent, the Association’s donation is due to the prolonged inadequate students sitting capacities, amidst efforts initiated by the two school administrations through the Parents Teacher Association to remedy the appalling situation.

The proxy of the Grand Kru County Development Association of Americas cautioned school administrators to ensure the chairs are used to promote academic excellence and students’ comfort in school.
The Association’s recent donation will help students sit properly and receive quality education and end students sitting on the cold floor and taking seats from their respective homes daily for sitting in class to take lessons.
Mr. Sedee was quick to clarify that the donation has no political motive; instead, he said it was from citizens of Grand Kru residing in the United States of America.
Mr. Sedee, speaking in a separate interview on June 30, stated that the initiative which began in 2017 and has previously benefited from three high schools including Barclayville Central High, Sasstown High, and P.G. Wolloh High School, with a total of 50 armchairs distributed has the goal to ensure implementation of the “One child, One chair Project launched by the National Government.
In furtherance, Sedee indicated that the Association put the cost of the project at more than US$1,100 in securing the fifty armchairs.
Additionally, Sedee revealed that the organization has also intended to construct modern latrine facilities aimed at improving sanitation at the community levels.
Receiving the donation, the Principal of the Jlatekpoh Elementary School extended heartfelt thanks to the diaspora community for their timely support, describing the gesture as a positive step towards resolving the school’s seating challenges.
Also responding to the donation, Mr. Moses Kun Doe, Principal of Togbaklee Elementary School, commended the Association and assured that the armchairs would be used properly by students.
For his part, Mr. Doe acknowledged that the contribution directly addresses the issue of insufficient seats at the school. He also disclosed that the existing school building—originally constructed by community members—is in a poor state, prompting residents to begin work on a modern facility for the school.
He appealed to the Ministry of Education, through the County School System, to support the ongoing construction effort and ensure a better learning environment for the children of Picnicess.
