Global Bank Liberia Bewilders Over Judge Chineh’s Guilty Verdict Ordering Payment US$2.5M To MONCO

Last week’s guilty verdict rendered by the Judge of Civil Law Court Annex ‘B’ at the Temple of Justice on Capitol Hill, Nelson B. Chineh against Global Bank Liberia Limited ordering it to pay US$2,5 Million as general damages to the Management of MONCO Liberia Limited in an action of damages wrong lawsuit filed by the company seems not to go down well with legal team of the bank craving for the intervention of the Supreme Court of Liberia.

Following Judge Chineh’s ruling in the case, source closed to  the bank, hinted on Monday, September 4, 2023 to express reservation on the decision to adjudged his client, Global Bank liable for any wrong doing, and further presented copies of documents affirming the bank innocence.

The sources speaking further said  with all the supporting documents presented denied all the allegations leveled against his client (Global Bank Liberia Limited), noting that the Supreme Court will decide who is right or wrong, noting that for now the Chineh ruling will not be accepted.

Copies of communications between the Bank and MONCO in the possession of the GNN-Liberia also revealed that the lawsuit filed against the Bank by MONCO seems contradictory, a situation that prompted the Bank’s legal team to seek further redress from the highest court of the land, the Supreme Court of Liberia.
