For Creating More Employment Opportunities For Citizens, Weajue Town Chief Eric Fayiah Extols BMMC
The Town Chief of Weajue, one of Bea Mountain Host Communities in Gola Konneh District, Grand Cape Mount County says citizens of the area are closely working in collaboration with BMMC as the company is doing well.
Speaking to journalists on Tuesday, September 19, 2023; Mr. Eric Fayiah pointed out that jobs are being provided by the Bea Mountain Mining Corporation which is enabling most of their citizens to be part of the workforce of the company.
He said “The Company has been doing well, we have the Clan Development Fund every year where they can give Hundred Fifty Thousand United States Dollars to the Clan for development purpose; they have been doing well”.
The Weajue Town Chief indicated that the first money they received from Bea Mountain through the Clan Development Fund which was in the tune of $150.000.00 United States Dollars went to a Clinic and other projects in their area.
Eric Fayiah disclosed that the only Public School in Weajue is functioning; while BMMC is also helping some teachers with stipends.
He however, appealed to Bea Mountain to have more volunteer teachers added to its stipend list.
The Town Chief of Weajue has further commended BMMC for providing all the building materials needed for their Guest House project.
He added that the citizens are only awaiting the end of the rainy season for them to continue with the work, which according to him the project is at a window level.
