As pressure mounts for the prosecution of those who bear the greatest responsibilities for war year’s atrocities, information gather by the GNN has revealed that international investigators are in the country to extract some of those believed to have committed heinous crimes against humanity.

According to our source, the major reasons of the arrival of these international investigators are to massively pick up notorious war actors who have over the years been shortlisted for their role played in the brutal Liberian civil war.

Those reportedly high on the list are people who provided political leadership for warring factions, and fighting command during Liberia’s bloody carnage that killed more than 250,000 people and the destruction of Liberia’s infrastructural worth billions of United States Dollars.

Sources closed to ECOWAS informed the GNN that Senator Prince Johnson haven learnt of the presence of international investigators being in Liberia and elsewhere in the region to pick up notorious war actors, decided to withdraw from the Liberian delegation to the ECOWAS Parliament.

Over the years, Senator Johnson has been very apprehensive about the prosecution of those who carry the brunt of years of the Liberian civil war.

The former fearless rebel general has often flip-flop on the establishment of the War and Economic Crimes Court for Liberia, recently insulting a journalist in Nimba County who posed a question to him on the subject.

The Nimba County Senator is credited of slaughtering the late Liberian President Samuel K. Doe on live camera in September of 1990.
