The Government of Liberia says it has received copy of the actual diplomatic passport which was seized by the FBI during search operation on the premises of Businessman Sheik Bassirou Kante.
Making the disclosure on Thursday, Information Minister Ledgerhood Rennie said the process followed a request assistance from the United States government through the U.S. embassy in consultation with the federal Bureau of investigation.
He expressed the Liberian government deep appreciation for the collaboration, coordination and support of the government of the United States in the ongoing passport saga.
The Information Minister noted that in a long term to implement decisive security enhancement regarding passport in Liberia, experts in passport operations, forgery and document security from the US are expected to arrive in Liberia at the end of June.
