‘Ellen Johnson Sirleaf-Led Regime Was The Most Corrupt Regime In Decades’ – LNBA President Declares

The President of the Liberia National Bar Association (LNBA), Cllr Tiawon Gongloe has described the former ruling governing Unity Party (UP) of Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, has been described as the ‘Most Corrupt Regime’ as compare to the current government of Liberia.

Cllr. Gongloe speaking on a local radio station, Sky FM today, October 4, 2021, said during the administration of Madam Sirleaf, she declared that she took responsibility when her son, Robert Sirleaf emptied the coffer of the National Oil Company of Liberia (NOCAL), a situation has robbed the country out of millions and leaving NOCAL in ruins.

The learned legal practitioner who served in the Johnson Sirleaf regime as Solicitor General of the Republic of Liberia, Labour Minister, speaking further recounted and also alleged that the Ellen Johnson Sirleaf regime misapplied millions of United States Dollars from several international organizations in Liberia.

He said even though the current government of President George Weah is corrupt, but noted that the Ellen Johnson Sirleaf-led government was the most corrupt than previous governments including the erstwhile William V. S. Tubman regime during its tenure in the 1900s, ‘Ellen Government was the worst,” he declared.

Early this year some group of Liberians under the name ‘Team Gongloe’ petitioned the LNBA President to contest for the presidency in the upcoming 2023 general and presidential elections.
