The grounds of the commercial Duala market on the Bushrod Island has become the hottest spot for criminals, especially scalawags who invisibly rob people of their monies on a daily basis, with as several victims appealing to the national security to come to their rescue.
One of the victims, a lady believed to be in her early 40s speaking to the GNN in tears on how over Two Thousand United States Dollars(US$2,000.00) disappeared from her purse while awaiting to board a vehicle to Bo Waterside, Sierra Leone.
Miata is amongst dozens of other victims who also felt prey at the hands of these criminals hardcore criminals who on a daily basic troop the commercial enclave of Duala under the canopy of traveling. “I brought over Five Hundred United States Dollars to purchase goods for my shop, but surprisingly this money disappeared from my purse,” Miata speaking to the GNN last Saturday said.
For Nathaniel Cooper, a resident of Monrovia in an interview with the GNN in a rather frustrated state of distress, said similar thing happened to him when he decided to pass through the Duala Market for the Monrovia Brewery to purchase drinks for his entertainment center in the Paynesville Community, “My man these guys are indeed dangerous, I don’t know how they got to know that I had money in my wallet. You won’t believe this, when I got to the factory to make payment, the money I had disappeared, it was a misery for me”, Nathaniel in dismay told our reporter.
With these usual happenings at the Duala Market, the National Police must quickly move in to safe many Liberians who are always the victims in the hands of these criminals.
