Dr. Daniel E. Cassell: A Noble Liberian Humanitarian Contributions Without Border

The man, Dr. Daniel E. Cassell the President/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Dr. Cassell’s Foundation in Liberia has been noticed over the years as a Liberian whose effort to help bringing relief to the most needed Liberians has no border; helping Liberians in improving their livelihood through his humanitarian Initiatives.

Dr. Cassell’s eye-opening initiative for the people of Liberia is his owned Foundation, the Dr. Daniel Cassell Foundation which has committed itself to nationalistically constructing a parking lot for commercial motorcyclists, and the completion of a local church building, the construction of public latrines and hand pumps, among others in Monrovia and its environs has given rise to this write to pen this profile.

Speaking recently when he addressed hundreds of Liberians including youths, women, physically challenged and students in Marshall City, Margibi County, , Dr. Daniel E. Cassell, as a true humanitarian assured the Liberian people that through his foundation, he will provide helping hands and assistance to vast majority of less fortunate Liberians as well as women groups, students and organizations in the country.

He further encouraged citizens who have been abandoned by the wayside to keep the hope because he remains committed to give back to the needy what God has blessed him with.

He observed that most often citizens’ wellbeing is downplayed by those who they immensely help to lift up in their respective endeavors.

Dr. Cassell, however, vowed to help citizens to realize their true values in order to empower themselves and help move their country forward.

“I thank you all for your presence today. It tells me that the presence of Dr. Cassell’s Foundation is of importance. I have travelled the roads that you have travelled. I lived the life that most of you are living. My number one prayer to God has been when God continues to bless me and lift me up; I should remember those who are down”.

“All that I have earned in terms of money and wealth, it is not for me to keep it. God gave it to be so it can pass through me. I am here today to establish the Dr. Cassell’s Foundation in Liberia to be a help to the less fortunate, the poor and those of you who have been forgotten by the wayside. They passed by you like they don’t see you; but I see you. I will stop and talk to you”.

Dr. Cassell, however, vowed to help citizens to realize their true values in order to empower themselves and help move their country forward.

He promised to initiatives numerous projects in the soonest possible time to bring some level of relief to those who are in need.

He committed his foundation to the immediate construction of a parking lot for commercial motorcyclists following the location of a suitable spot, the completion of a local church building under construction, the construction of public latrines and hand pumps, among others.

The Dr. Cassell Foundation was established in July 2020 in Liberia to help assist with meeting the basic needs of the poor, less fortunate, and disenfranchised citizens of the Liberian society.

It plans to also provide technical, medical services and supplies to the needy, conduct need assessment and provide rehabilitation services, promotes security, public education, and safety, and empowers citizens through vocational skills training, agriculture skills acquisition, educational services and employment assistance, among others.

Currently, the Dr. Cassell’s Foundation is constructing two bridges to serve as transport route to work, and enable residents and marketers to sell their goods or services along the Kakata-Bong Mines road.

It can be recalled that last year, 2020, on Thursday, October 2, 2020 to be exact, the lifeless bodies of the Assistant Commissioner for Internal Audit and acting Manager for Tax Payers of the Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA), Albert Peters and Gifty Asmah Lama, were found in a vehicle on Broad Street in Monrovia during the early morning hours.

The gesture to the children of Albert is an extended of a previous scholarship awarded to his younger child at the secondary level.

Making the presentation on last year’s Christmas Eve in Monrovia, Dr. Cassell disclosed that his move to identify with the widow and children of the fallen Liberian auditor was based on Christian principles and patriotism.

He observed that Mr. Peters lost his life in a very “tragic, mysterious and unexplained circumstance”, and as such, it was prudent to help reduce some of the financial burden on his widow by shouldering the cost of his children university studies.

“While there’s absolutely nothing that can be said or done to remove the deeply felt pain of losing their beloved husband and dad, I do believe that coming to the aid of a fellow citizen during a period of crisis and grief is a noble, Christian and patriotic thing to do”.

“In this spirit, I extend 4-years of university scholarships to both children in addition to the last year of high school scholarship to the younger child. It’s my hope that this gesture of Dr. Cassell’s Foundation will help ease some of the financial burden of the grieving widow and help the children find comfort in continuing their education”.

For their part, the beneficiaries commended Dr. Cassell for taking full responsibility of the cost of their university studies.

They, however, prayed for God’s blessings and guidance upon the lives of the Liberian philanthropist and his family members.

It is also engaged into rough grading, leveling and cleaning and construction of roads and farming areas in Margibi County.
