Deputy Speaker Koffa Set For The Speakership, As CDC Leadership Endorses His Bid

Finally, the leadership of the ruling Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) has endorsed the Speakership bid of the current Deputy Speaker, Cllr. Jonathan Fonati Koffa, Grand Kru County District #2 Representative.

Addressing a well attended news conference at the CDC headquarters in Congo Town on Thursday, December 1, 2023, the National Chairman of the party, Mulbah Morlu said the party has overwhelmingly endorsed Deputy Speaker Koffa for the 55th National Legislature, noting that he has over years performed well as Deputy Speaker.

With this latest development from circle of the CDC, it now cleared that Representative Koffa has no opponent in the party, thur declaring him the only candidate to contest for the speakership position, replacing outgoing Speaker, Maryland County District #2 Lawmaker, Bhofal Chambers who was defeated by Anthony Williams during the just elections.

Recently dozens of old and incoming lawmakers publicly endorsed the speakership bid of Deputy Speaker bid of Representative Cllr. J. Fonati Koffa, a situation that has placed him on top with others including Representatives Musa Hassan Bility of Nomba County, and Richard Koon of Montserrado County.
