Court Orders EFFL Commander-In-Chief, Emmanuel Gonqueh, Others Arrested.

EFFL Commander-In-Chief, Emmanuel Gonqueh

The Stipendiary Magistrate of the Monrovia City Court, Judge Jomah Jallah has ordered the arrest of the leader of the Economic Freedom Fighters of Liberia, Emmanuel Gonqueh, and others.

In the writ of arrest which is in the possession of GNN, Gonqueh and others are been charged with Terroristic Threats, Simple Assault, Felonious Restraint, and Disorderly Conduct.

The writ of arrest which states, “You are hereby commended to arrest the living bodies of Emmanuel Conqueh and others to be identified, and forthwith bring them before the Monrovia City Court, Temple of Justice to answer to the charge of terroristic threats, simple assault, felonious restraint, and disorderly conduct”, the writ added.

The writ of arrest issued is issued based upon a complaint filed by the Republic of Liberia by and thru the Ministry of Justice.

The Writ stated that during July 21, 2021, at about 5:30 AM, in the area of the capitol hill/capital bypass, city of Monrovia, Montserrado County, Republic of Liberia, Gonqueh, and others being a group dressed in red T-shirts said to have come from the economic Freedom fighters headed by Gonqueh went on the premises of the Capitol Building and purposely with violence Attacked the gate of the Capital Building opposite the Executive Mansion.

Accordingly, it is alleged that members of the EFFL beat and inflicted wounds and injuries on the security guards of the legislative security service assigned at the capitol.

Still alleging that the EFFL rained insults publicly and intentionally broke the lock before installing their own chains with lacks with the intent to terrorize the public, staffs and employees threat.

According to the court documents, the action of the EFFL leader and others is unlawful, wicked, illegal, violent, and intentional. The writ also said, the EFFL member’s action violates sections 11.16 of the amended act, section 14.21 and 17.3 of the new penal law of Liberia there and then the crime herein did and commit.

The court document further indicated that “Contrary to the form and effect to the statutory laws of Liberia in such cases made and proven against the peace and dignity for this Republic and for so doing.”

“This shall constitute your legal and sufficient authority and have you have there this Writ of the arrest.
