Court Detained Woman For Possession And Smuggling Narcotic Substances At Central Prison

The Stipendiary Magistrate of the Monrovia City Court, Ben Barco has sent to jail a woman believe to be in her 20s for allegedly possessing and smuggling narcotic substances valued over ninety thousand Liberian Dollars into the Monrovia Central Prison facility.

Defendant Janet Swaray was arrested last week at the entrance of Monrovia Central Prison while attempting to smuggle a narcotic substance to her boyfriend, Theophilus Tarr who is serving prison terms for alleged armed robbery.

Defendant Swaray disclosed to judicial reporters at the Temple of Justice that she was sent by her finance, co-defendant Tarr to purchase a few items for him and take it to the Monrovia central prison where he is currently detained.
